Helsingborg Harbor


Helsingborg is situated in the southernmost part of Sweden. As it is located by the sea it is also known as the gateway to Denmark, it is less than 4 km of water between Helsingborg and the Danish city: Helsingør. It is one of the oldest cities of Sweden, being the site of permanent settlement since 1085. Today it is a commercial and industrial town and an ideal center of conferences and trade fairs and of course a major tourist destination spot in the country. Get in

By train- The city has excellent real connections to Lund, Malmo and Gothenburg. It is also easily reachable by rails from the Copenhagen Airport. By bus- There are regular bus services from Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, and Copenhagen to Helsingborg. For further information look for the major bus companies which are: GoByBus, Bus4you and Swebus. By car- Reach the city by car by E4 from Stockholm, by E6 from Malmo and Gothenburg and Oslo in the North. By boat-There is a few minute ferry rides from Helsingor, Denmark. By air- The Helsingborg Airport- Ängelholm is 40 km away from the city center. It operates flights to Stockholm, Visby and Mora.

Get around

It is very easy to get around the city as all public transport goes through the train /ferry/bus terminal Knutpunkten.  Skånetrafiken is the one that runs the local and regional bus and train system. Getting around in the city by bus is the most convenient way, as they run from early morning till midnight or later on the weekend and a single trip it costs around 20 SEK. By taxi-You get taxis from the Marina Plaza Hotel, but remember the rides are rather expensive.

Helsingborg Castle


Kärnan Tower- it is situated on the heights above the main square. It is a medieval building from the 14 century.

Helsimgborg Concert Hall- with more than 900 seats is home for the Helsingborg’s Symphony Orchestra.

Raus Kyrka- the oldest church in the city.

Sofiero Castle- it is an ocean side royal castle situated 5 km from the city center. It has an amazing garden and restaurant and modern art gallery.

Helsingborg Castle- it is a beautiful castle overlooking the harbor.

Fredriksdal-it is an open air museum with beautiful gardens, old houses, museums, and theater and farm animals.

The Church of Saint Mary is from the 14 century. Its features are the historical chart and the modern stained glass in the choir.

Öresund Park –it is known as the former spa establishment with spring waters.

Museum of art is displaying the collections of both modern and contemporary art.

The Municipal Museum includes an art gallery and a natural history section as well.
